“While Andy Baur passed away in 1999, his legacy lives on throughout the St. Louis region,” said MGA’s President Larry Chapman. “Whenever you buy, sell or lease space in an industrial or office park, you are a part of the stamp that Andy left on the St. Louis community.”
Baur started his career with Ladue Building and Supply building Quonset huts for clients in need of quick and economical industrial space. Then,
he progressed to developing large-scale industrial parks such as the
Lindbergh-Warson Industrial Center and the Creve Coeur Office Park. He was the first to bring the industrial park concept to St. Louis, thereby
leaving a significant impact on commercial and industrial park
development in the St. Louis region.
Andy’s legacy to St. Louis, while noteworthy, is not surprising. He lived by the axiom: You should always give back to the industry and the
community in which you live. “He lived those words,” said Chapman.
MGA was pleased to honor Baur’s family and recognize the enormous impact that he made to the commercial real estate industry in St. Louis.
